That's just the title of the thread, I do not know anyone that believes we came from monkies although I'm sure nutcases that do believe it exist, people will believe anything.

Arguing that god exists because we couldn't have come from monkies is mute as that is not what is claimed by evolution. If you want to argue evolution which has very solid scientific fact I really suggest you educate yourself on the matter as the arguments against it I have seen, not just yours, are pretty poor.

My favorite; throwing leaves up into the air and eventually they come back down as a monkie. To me this would not prove evolution, but it would prove to me god exists as it would be a miracle barring the fact that you accidentally knocked a monkey out of a tree when you threw the leaves up.

OMG, he used the d word. Science's Saint Steven is more of an open thinker than most scientist.

I was given the distinct impression that I was an descendant of monkeys from my science teachers. Look at my first couple of grandpas in the family photo they showed us in school for the monkey family resemblance. But then again I learned evolution when the world was 150,000,000 years old, now it's 4.85 billion years old so maybe the monkeys got lost in the last 4.7 billion years of my life.

    1. Did we evolve from monkeys?

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans are more closely related to modern apes than to monkeys, but we didn't evolve from apes, either. Humans share a common ancestor with modern African apes, like gorillas and chimpanzees. Scientists believe this common ancestor existed
5 to 8 million years ago. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other evolved into early human ancestors called hominids.

Just shows you didn't even bother to read the post before responding.
If you had, you would have read the fact that I explicitly stated WE DID NOT EVOLVE FROM MONKEYS.

Please reflect on the stubbornness you just committed.

And just so you know I am completing my PHD now and it require very little effort... just going to prove what I said, any dumb*** can get a phd.

where you have the idea like that? do you think religious or agnostic people believe that there is a god because of evolution?

is that because something I said or everyone else said or you just take the conclusion on your own?

should I reverse the statement for you?
arguing that God does not exist because we could have come from monkies

Here's a quote of yours from earlier in the thread:

and it's not just you, it's a common argument, my point is that this is not a valid argument as evolution does not state that.

While I have you here please explain this one, this is why they fought so hard againt the Earth not being the center of the universe:

    << 1 Chronicles 16:30 >>

    New American Standard Bible (©1995)
Tremble before Him, all the earth; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.

    GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
Tremble in his presence, all the earth! "The earth stands firm; it cannot be moved.

    King James Bible
Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

Darwin called European ppls the higher race . He called black peoples and native Australians guerillas. It can be called the racist ideology. Darwin was calling women lower race .

Just showing the bible has MANY false facts in it. but when religions FINALLY realized we do revolve around the sun... it suddenly wasn't an important issue :p, and now the bible is "interpreted" differently... funny how it can be interpreted by whatever means the user finds beneficial, and yet the interpretation is presented as a fact.

because it pays the bills. Really, your just being immature at this point.

Please read my original post for this thread and review the statement that says we are not from monkeys but rather coevolved alongside them. You have misstated evolution too many times to have read the post or to have learned anything about evolution before attempting to discredit it.

Excuse me! But Bible may have said something wrong about the Sun and Earth, but Quran clearly and explicitly states that The Earth is not the center of the Universe.

Now you would definitely say that Muslims may have altered the facts after SCIENTISTS found out this fact..........................................but the truth is that 1400 years before( when Quran came) no onw knew this fact, not even scientists!!!!

i know the theory of evolution how it keep changing from time to time...

you using very aggressive subject, and the subject have different meaning with your post.
that why i always point for the subject of this thread, not the post content.

misstated? isn't your subject that i've been using? :D

you the one who started this thread and start attacking people who do not have the same belief with you.
maybe next time you will point a gun in my head forcing me to belief on evolution?
now, who is the immature?

That's amazing. you talk only about the subject title without reading the content. How incredibly ridiculous!

YES, my subject title and content clash. They weren't supposed to fit perfectly together, I CLEARLY (multiple times) explained how we are NOT monkeys in my post. The title is "an attention getter"--- hear of one of those before?

But honestly here is how it goes... opinions are okay but need to be backed by evidence. If something does not follow the evidence then we should be mature enough to adjust the opinion and take our ego out of the equation.

You can't make reasoned arguments with evolution deniers. These are people who have no interest in logic.

Even if that is true, which it isn't, it has no effect on the validity of the theory and doesn't remove the mountain of evidence supporting it.

The first "mammal" (remember, "mammal" is the word we use to describe a family of animal which produces milk) would have evolved from a reptile, as did birds.

Anyone else see the irony of having someone who can't even spell evolution criticise it's validity?

Most people who criticizes evolution (often on religious grounds) usually have no idea what they're talking about, so it does make for boring scientific conversations when your opponent doesn't even understands science and you spend your better time trying to explain it to them. It's like teaching someone how to box and they proclaim to have won the match after their first few punches in the air, with their friends on the side agreeing. Ugh.

Someone once compared debating evolution with creationists to playing cards with chimps... they eat the cards and then proclaim to have won.
