Don't wasted your time trying to improve your PR, there no point. Only worry about increasing your traffic and SEPR it self not toolbar PR. i have mo pr and i receive 3x more traffic then a site with the same niche with a PR of 3. Increase traffic and don't waste your time reading those topics on how to increase your toolbar PR.
PR is important to some websites... To blogs it's insanely important if you're going to be trying to get Advertising, but you're correct when you say it doesn't affect traffic numbers in any way.
I agree, Don't focus more on how to increase PR it will soon happen instead focus on how to increase traffic because traffic can convert into earnings or sales.
PR doesn't matter and hasn't matter in years. I have a PR1 website that makes tons of money and gets tons of traffic. PR is for the misguided traffic is what you should really focus on.
If you are running to get good rank over targeted (high ranking) keywords then Pr is very important. Google gives priority to Pr sites. So Ranking, Pr, Traffic is equally important.
i m little bit agree with you but i would like to tell you that i have research on this and get the result that if u have 2 sites with different pr and It is more effecting when you are doing on page optimization like Title creation, if you have use 1 keyword (seo services) in the title of hi pr web site and if you have use (seo services, professional seo services) in low pr website so which site will get more priority for serps?, Answer is - High pr website will get the good result with only one time repeated keyword.
So according to my experience Page rank is not so important, but traffic is more important, if u wanna to increase page than u have to update your website daily through articles and and submit this articles to Google bookmarks............http://www.infovision4u.com
I agree that PR is not important for traffic. Sure, it's nice to have it, but I would rather have more traffic than high PR...
indeed, traffic is more important that pr, but pr will show how relevant pages with other website and traffic is the ultimate goal that webmaster want to achieve it.
Page Rank is becoming less significant in determining rankings. And very often toolbar PR, the one that we can see, is different to that which Google uses in its algorithm. Unfortunately many advertisers and others still think it has the same value it had five years ago and use it as a basis for determining the value of a site.
Unless the bloggers or webmasters want to sell links, other than that, the PR has no practical value. I agree that traffic and SERP are more important.
NOT TRUE, I have a number of sites that rank for highly competitive key terms with pr0 and no back links Google does not give priority to high pr sites
It totally depends on the type of site and its purpose. For content sites, PR is important to rank higher for keywords. For SEO purposes PR is significant. For making money PR has less significance. That comes down to your sales process, product, traffic, etc.
I'm beginning to wonder if most webmasters can read. Here's Google's own statement about PageRank: "Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results." And that's ©2009 Google — that is, current information. I ignore anecdotal stories about this-or-that page with PR1 outranking a PR4 page in the SERPs. There are too many other variables that can account for that. The fact is, other factors being equal, you can take this to the bank: higher page rank —> more likely higher SERPs http://www.google.com/corporate/tech.html Now get ready for the predictable replies saying that PR is only one of about 200 factors in ranking. I know that. The error that many webmasters make is assuming that PR carries only a 1/200 weight in the rankings. Google does not say that.
