If you were to run for office....?

The Fair Tax doesn't repeal the 16th Amendment. It doesn't mean an end to income taxes, in fact it leaves the door wide open for what the Canadians have. Provincial (state) sales and income tax, a consumption fair tax AND federal income tax.

If you really want to support a smarter taxation system, repeal the 16th. Otherwise, you haven't ended progressive income tax for good, you've just supplemented the Fair Tax as a placeholder until it returns.

 

What's all this crap about national security? Do you people even know what national security means?!

You have a huge country with two friendly nabors to the south and north, two huge oceans to the east and west, the strongest navy in the world, the most powerful army in the world and if that's not enough you have dozens of millions of armed people and a crapload of nukes. What could possibly ever realisticly threaten the very survival of the US as a nation?

 

Illegal immigration. Other than that, not much.

 

The one to the South is anything but friendly, it already took over parts of the US

Our government is constantly working to repeal the right to carry arms. In my state, if they find that someone excercises it, they send him to jail...

 

In response to the original post, I'd be somewhere between conservative and liberal, haha...

- National defense should be our number one priority (overseas, and domestic)
- Kill stupid pork projects, like the $400 million bridge to nowhere
- Give states the power, in turn giving people a choice to live in the state that most suits them
- Stop outsourcing our jobs, am I the only one that things this is going to get bad quickly?
- Don't be the world police, but if there's a threat, crush it with overwhelming force
- Government should not control individuals (pro-choice)
