Im looking to sell my PR4 directory in the near future. Its currently running phpLD2.1 - the question is, is it worth me upgrading and paying for phpLD3.x before i sell the site? If you were buying a directory which would you prefer phpLD2.x or phpLD3.x ? Would you be prepared to pay more for a phpLD3.x directory than you would for a phpLD2.x directory? Your thoughts please...
You could always pass the cost to the buyer add it to the price. That's how the real worll works...just tell 'em you will include a paid version of phpld for the same price I also think the buyer would want the best on what ever he's putting he's money on and PHPLD 3x is no doubt better than the Free ver. and having it already installed would want the potential buyer to buy it.
I'd prefer to phpLD3.x as I would get more features, but you should transfer the phpld to the buyer or ask him to buy the v3 version.
Right well this is sounding rather positive. My view is that i would upgrade from phpLD2.1 to phpLD3.x (probably 3.0.6), also include in with the bid price or BIN the $25 purchase of the phpLD script along with the inclusion of the .com address as well. Hopefully this should push the price of the final price up. Also (going with the phpLD3.0.6 upgrade idea) sell the final PR4 directory with or without a unique template? Obviously with a unique template id be looking for $150-$200 more than without... obviously with the purchase including the template the purchaser could always sell the template (or distribute with full reseller rights) if they decided they didnt like the design. Or should i just use a free template for the sale? Your thoughts on this as well please based on the fact that with a unique template i'd be looking at $400 minimum (with perhaps a $500 bin... Thinking about it even further $500 bin is rather generous considering that there are spots for sitewide advertising text links - so if the right person bought it they could be getting around $100 per month in sitewide link payments... question is would someone pay $500+ for a PR4 general directory... i think theres obviously a cut off point for directories that people are unlikely to go beyond... How do you work out the price of a site based on its income... is it the income over 8 months? 10 months? i can't remember...
if i was to buy the directory, if u didnt already i would pay $25 and upgrade it. so yeh it would be better to upgrade before u sell.
