If you want to rank for a country specific TLD/Top-Level-Domain extension (such as Yahoo.jp or Google.ca) which of the following is NOT important?

Acquiring links from domains located in the target country

Hosting the domain on an IP address in the targeted country

Linking out only to other sites with the targeted TLD extension

Registering with local search extensions of the major engines to confirm your geographic location

Registering a domain extension that matches the targeted country (i.e. .nl for the Netherlands or .cn for China)

    from seomoz quiz.

another question : if i use .cn(from china) domain to rank, does it hurt to serp in global google?

it will not hurt your rank.

gii.in can be a good example for you. it's an .in domain but it's on the first page with "Web Directory" keyword
