However, whatever you're thinking about them gurus, they are doing something right.... subscribing to a couple of the big ones newsletters can really help getiing an understanding of how to market...

 

its hard to explain SEO even to a grown up without a tech background

 

I like the narrative, but gurus do show you what's working in the market.

 

I like the way Google explains PR... If someone important (obama, brad pitt etc.) vouch for you, then you must be an important person yourself
Isn't that what it's all about.... Getting high quality backlinks...

 

I don't try to explain what I do - most folks where I live
believe that the Internet is one big scam - my 6 year
old tells people - "My mom works at home on her computer
writing stuff for other people" and that seems to satisfy
their curiosity. LOL

 

Basically you hypnotize the search engines into believing that your site is in the demand.
