If you only had $5... What would YOU do?

Hypothetically, Let's say you're paypal account only had $5 in it. What would you do with that five dollars to turn it into a double digit, or even triple digit number; short of depositing money yourself?

 

1) Buy Web hosting
2) Start up a low-budget community
3) Advertise the hell out of it.
4) Hopefully make $10.00 or more at the end of the month.

What would you do?

 

not much you can do with $5 other than paying for web hosting. You could try investing in penny stocks and praying for a miracle.

 

with $5? thats a lot of word of mouth advertising.

To answer the question, I cant do anything with $5.

 

get a .info domain
get a free web host
install phpbb
put ads EVERYWHERE

repeat

Come on, $5 is too little to start off with something, if I only have $5 at the moment I would do some writing or postings to get a little more bucks first.

Webhosting: Free or $2 at the most for cheap hosting.
PHPBB: Free
Wordpress: Free
SEO Plug ins for both: Also FREE.
Find a good niche to write about, set up a wordpress blog and PHPBB forum.
Get talking to a few web designers and see if someone to knock up a logo for you in return for something (links on site, etc). Start posting regularly on that WP blog (2 or three proper content articles a day for starters), and set up the forum to be about that very niche. Even if you have to post yourself under various names, get the forum at least somewhat established.
Make sure you optimize each of the pages for Search Engines, use Sitemaps, etc.
Set up contextual advertising (such as google or whatever) on the pages.

Then get traffic: Other forums on that niche, blogs on that niche, and even groups (Facebook, google, myspace, you name it) are an incredible source of traffic. Get talking to those people, and more importantly the admins of those groups and get the word for your site out there. If applicable, submit your articles to Digg & other sites like Digg. Get your users involved and get them to help digg your site.

Talk to other website owners (links section here in DP?) about link trades. Get your website out there!If your wesite starts getting some decent traffic, sell links on your pages (Even if its just for a few bucks a month).

If done right, within the month you should be making a good deal of money, both from traffic from your SEO, and your social networking. But more than that, you can have a steady, always increasing revenue stream.

That's what I'd do with just $5.

I would find a working 50 dollar adwords credit link for google adwords, sign up and pay the 5.00 account fee. Then spend time keyword researching and finding a good niche. Once niche is found, work up a good amount of longtail keywords at about .05-.15 cpc to test with. At the end of your 50 dollars, hopefully you have found a converter. Invest all the money you get back into adwords if you find a converter, if not then write some articles over at ac and start the process again.

 

I would flip .INFO websites for cash. Could turn $5 into $100, $200 or more within a day.

 

Buy 2 .info domain and make web sites. I'll flip both sites after some time for a good value.
