Update: I got another sitelink added in WMT - I got 8 now. And near enough on all my keyword searches which i have focussed on - I get two url's listed beside each other, not necessarily 1st and 2nd, but always in the top 10, with the latter link 'More links from...' url, giving a 'site:' search. Is this one step off finally receiving sitelinks? Oh, and the site is PR4 now.

Now after the PR and BL update:

    1. 2006
    2. PR4
    3. No sitelinks.
    4. N/A
    5. 447 Links.

I did come acrose this interesting post on sitelinks:
    http://hamletbatista.com/2007/08/09/the-truth-about-sitelinks-site-structure-is-splendid-it-seems/

According to this, traffic is a major factor. It is determined by the Google toolbar.

I do not use the Google toolbar, does anyone here with sitelinks use it?

How much traffic are you getting?

Another thing I have discovered, is that the title of these sites with sitelinks is being pulled from ODP/DMOZ.

I am listed in DMOZ, but I use the robots noodp meta tag to block the title from being displayed...

Is anyone else listed in DMOZ and does not use the noopd tag?

Well, I just lost a sitelink today - my WMT info updated and I'm back to 7 sitelinks. At the PR update a couple of weeks ago I got a PR4. Yahoo's backlinks recently updated and I have ~5400 to the homepage, 7600+ overall. Google is still sitting at the 5300 mark for homepage urls. this updated around 2 weeks ago.

    My website data:

    1. age of site 2003
    2. Page Rank: 0 it was 5 until oct/2007
    3. Number of sitelinks you have in WMT: 0 - Today but it was 8 - 15 days ago
    4. YES: 550.600
    5. Number of Google links 6371

Google generates sitelinks dinamically, my main website has shown sitelinks several times even with very competitive search terms, as of today it doesn't show sitelinks but two weeks ago there was 8; terms and links titles were extracted for pages content.

Last octuber, I lost sitelinks both in wmt and serp, when google changed my site page rank from 5 to 0, I thought that it was caused by pagerank but they returned (sitelinks) on November, then none, and back on December, just to loose them again this month

In my opinion, sitelinks are just a way to show site structure (every time that Google shows them, they were extracted from my site navigation bar), they have nothing to do with links, links weigh, page rank, etc.

There is, however, a main factor (again just talking about my own experience) it is the number of pages crawled by day.

Thanks for your input. Do you mind sharing your sites URL?

Sitelinks have been so unpredictable these past few months. One thing is for sure - if you have sitelinks I very highly doubt the home user would click any link but yours. Sitelinks show your authority.

    Spider-Man,

Can you tell me if those sitelinks appearing in your WMT also appearing when you search google for those keywords?

I got 8 sitelinks for my extremely popular blog. The blog has over 100,000 backlinks in yahoo and over 75000 according to WMT. However i can't see sitelinks when i search for keywords in google, althought i rank very high for all the terms. almost 1st or 2nd for most of them.

Unfortunately not. Some of my sitelink titles brought me up ~5th on Google UK search. So I don't know exactly why they assigned those particular pages, especially since 2 of them were practically irrelevant to users unless they really enjoy reading boring legal stuff. Nonetheless, I've never seen our site come up showing sitelinks for any search term at all. The site does always tend to show in serps with 1 link and 1 indented link, but not specific 'sitelinks'. I've now got ~6000 links in WMT, and all my sitelinks disappeared yesterday.

    Gutted like a fish?

I totally believe that sitelinks for me were generated by traffic volume, and not hierarchy. I had one poll, 1 out of 6,000+, that made a site link, and three of the other ones I had were all more popular pages than pages I had that organized the site better. I know what they say the site links are for organization, but it wasn't in my case for my polling site. It was also not the case for my road rage site. It just showed popular pages and not directory type pages that should get a sitelink according to their description. Google SE results by a computer so there will always be mistakes. It's too bad if you are screwed like me, if the computer can't figure you out as far as G is concerned. Sooner or later Google will crap out like the Patriots, and go down.

PageRank has nothing to do with Google Sitelinks.

I've got two for a couple of clients and neither are above PageRank 3.

What I would like to know is, for the two I have are pending — when do they become visible on Google's SERPs?

That's the biggest question we've got here. If you find out, well done on getting a Google team member to speak out - so far we're all failing.

The reason I'm asking is, I've written something of an exposé on Google Sitelinks, which I don't want to go live with until I get my Sitelinks out in the wild...

If you let me know the site url I'll take a look into it and check on various datacenters and see if I can get your site to produce any sitelinks in SERP's :)

Sitelinks on my WMT account are back, there are 8 links, most of them extracted from the navigation menu, but two come from my most visited pages
I can't find the term that google uses to show them on SER, it is not even my website name, still searching...
