Adwords traffic is going to be a lot more targeted, but forum posting is cheaper. It depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
This sounds interesting to me. Does anybody here have experience actually doing this, or are we talking theory? If anyone here has hired people to post on forums, please tell us what you can about how you found good people, what you paid them, how you tracked results and so forth. Thanks for sharing whatever you can.
Sorry, it is one of the worst ways. Only noobs think this works. First off, very, very few buy. Just about all who come to your site are just curious. They poke around for a few seconds, and then back out again. In addition, in most cases conversion rate is one quarter to one percent. Next, that poster would have to do one HELL of a lot of posting to begin with anyway. Do the math.
I agree with cooper on this one. Curious people don't buy. . .they poke and leave. Good for getting traffic. You've have to have one hellah of a product or service to convert on the first try.
I'm starting to think that Adwords and advertising on some websites don't work. I think text ads on sigs and actually links that look more like "check this out" than "Ads" work better... I think alot of people now-a-days have "anti-ad vision" so they avoid it... xD but that only from my opinion...
Of course everyone knows what ads look like and avoid them. The beauty of pay per click is that you don't lose money from the people avoiding the ads.
I am starting to get more interested in paying someone to post for me in forums. I can't stand adwords though.
Forums are a great way to promote. Adwords would suck your wallet dry, so don't do it. Do you already know what your site is converting at? If you do, then you might look into paid marketing. But if you don't, then generate all the free traffic you can first, and only then should you move towards paid traffic. I'd say use your money to purchase articles and then distribute them via Article Marketer. It's slow, long term exposure and you will see traffic for a long time to come.
I have promoted various products through sig links. In over 120 forums across the internet. When I was a newb in online advertising I did it full time for about $8 per hour while I watched T.V. As for hiring someone else to do it, I would not reccomend it. I did hire a student to write hundreds of pages of content for my websites and paid him $40 per hour. Those are my websites that bring targeted traffic from the searhc engines. Far better than posting on someone elses forum in my opinion.
SEO might be good and long term traffic tool Quality articles , Quality links and regular posting is all what you need
