The things that tie both of them together are their stance against the war in Iraq and their attitude about civil liberties. While certainly Obama is not as pro-peace or as strong in his support of civil liberties as Ron Paul is, he is the next best thing in those areas and that's why I think you are seeing people who support Ron Paul primarily because of those issues turning to Obama now that they see McCain winning the GOP nomination.
What does that have to do with what I just said? Nothing. Like I said, people who supported Ron Paul because of the war & civil liberties issues are naturally moving to Obama as he is the closest to him on these issues. Not all Ron Paul supporters supported/support him because of the free market economics stuff.
If we turn the clock back and bring back Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al Who would vote for that lot knowing what they know now?
It's easy to criticize them but never before in history has the US experienced a terrorist attack with over 3000 dead.
That is a very true point and an excellent viewpoint and we can, or most of us can, be wise men after the event But why have these guys not nailed Bin Laden after all these years That's the question that needs resolving
Bin Laden is most lickely hiding in Pakistan and it will cause a war to get him. The big mistake with the Iraq war was focusing on WMD and not adhering to the Powell Doctrine of using overwhelming force. The US should have mobilized the National Guard and with 300,000 additional troops could have disarmed Iraq and interned its Army.
Yes we did not do the deal right in Iraq and we are paying heavily now for that mistake They should go into Pakistan and execute the guy its really that simple, doing it the Saddam Hussein way with all the trial and humiliation proved nothing and in many instances for many observers reflected badly on the USA and their policies In the Orient they take out the capo and simply execute the guy And if the law says this, says that, in other words it cannot be done Then real simple execute him and say it was an accident
