If you had $5000 to invest for 10 years...

Would you rather invest it in a LNN.com and build a small site around it, to sell 10 years later?

    OR

Would you invest it in a pile of LLLL.com's and sit and wait?

    lol LNN.com for $5,000?

I'd rather invest the money in a good site already generating income and improve it

Does 5k actually go far for promoting an established website? Like would it get you alot of advertising?

    well, NLL.com's still really aren't worth $5k

if it was LLL.com, then ya, they're worth $5k

    but anyway

if you're gonna go for LLLL.com or LLL.com, NLL.com ect
I'd make sure it's pronounceable and you can come up with wonderful ideas for it

$5,000 is just about the right amount to buy 1 share of Berkshire Hathaway class B shares.

For a 10 year investment, that is where I would put the money.

    meh
I personally don't like payed advertising
because you can do most of it yourself for free
but if you don't have the time, you could use $1k to experiment with different ways of advertising
and use the rest on the most sucessful way

Ive been getting my hands on a couple of LLLL's , spent a few $xxx on a particular one here that Im gonna hold for a while, highly brandable and pronouncable..I just hope Im not shooting for something that wont happen thinking that in 5-10 years it could be worth high $x,xxx after all the 5L are taken etc.

Investing in a good website with a good domain sounds like a good for $5000.

The problem is finding it. You might end up wasting the money chasing something which never works.

I think investing it in a good domain name is easier.

Stock option trading. I turned $5000 into $4000 my first month, then doubled it to $8000 over the next four months. The past few months have been crappy & I lost another $500 but I'm still ahead.

    :)

    L: Letter and N: Number.

for example: 3lk.com is a NLL domain.
