If you had $4,000 to spend on marketing what would you spend it on??

Advert in a national newspaper saying that your site is going to be giving away $1000 a day for the next three days.

I'm in the same position as the thread starter, I've got about 2 or 3 thousand to spend on promoting my site.


I'm already doing:

article submission
directory submission
text link buying
Press Release
Contests
Paying someone to post at other forums in my topic with a link in their sig.
Having my members work on word of mouth promotion.
Sending out a news letter.


I havn't tried adwords yet but I'll look into it.

anyone have any other suggestions?

 

Again, these are all really generic things you're listing. Chat with a marketing professional and get custom solutions, for both online and offline promotional method. I'm seeing a lot of IM techniques, but there's so much more most webmasters and online entrepreneurs are missing. Basically, what's your marketing plan? In that, you should be evaluating these methods and others, and how effective you can realistically expect them to be in your particular case, given your market research. Don't make the mistake of jumping right into tactics. It's a common marketing mistake, and the easiest way to throw money away in marketing.
