I have some money available to market my PR3 humor blog. If you were in my position, what would you do to gain additional traffic. Buy high PR backlings? Hire someone to write keyword rich blog posts? etc. Don't be afraid to be creative! Regards, Tulumbo
As this is a blog, you may need more post every day, and book those in to social bookmark website. You will get more traffic through Social Media. I hope its a not commerical website so you may or maynot go for SEO service to get traffic through Search Media.
I think that hiring someone who can create posts that are keyboard related, is your best bet to be recognized by SEO. You may also want to look into PPV, as you can get some highly targeted traffic very cheaply. Your $200 will go a very long way with this. Make sure your frequently posting new posts. Good luck with your site!
I will definately get some unique article and submit those article to article submission site to generate traffic
thanks for the advice everyone. would it be a good investment to pay for stumbles or other social bookmarking services?
What is the goal for your blog? Are you trying to make sales or drive traffic? Depending on your goals your $200 may be spent better one way over another. If your goal is sales, in my experience as a writer and with marketing, social bookmarking tools like Digg etc. do not drive BUYING traffic. Yes they drive traffic, but not traffic that usually buys. There might be some, but not the kind you will get with directed search engine traffic. What you want is content rich articles written with SEO in mind that will float to the top of the Google pile. And stay there. When I write for my site or when I write for someone else's site I focus on certain keywords. Once those keywords get to the top of the google pile I pick another set to focus on. Knowing what keywords you want is well a big key to successfully marketing your site By selecting sites that Google loves...the articles also have a better chance of being indexed high in the search engines. And they can stay there for a long time where stumbling and digging disappears rapidly.
I would create Image ads on the google content network, use placement targeting and put your images on related websites to your niche and set it up as a CPC method. That way you get lots of exposure but not too many ppl will click so you will get great branding for low costs.
Buy a good digital camera, open a yahoo video, break, meta cafe, daily motion and veoh account and start posting videos. If your site goes belly up, at least you would still have a camera.
is using videos to promote my website really a productive use of my time? Anyone have any experience with this?
Videos, Link Exchanges, Manual Surf Exchanges, Social Bookmarking, Meta Tag Analasis & Optimization, creating a social networking account for your website on myspace, facebook, twitter, hi 5, hustlenomics.com, etc are great ways to market your site as well. There are also many automation programs for almost every social networkign site. buzznet.com is another focusing on "tags" and "keywords" for almost every aspect of the profile you setup. Its a great website for targeting the "Emo" Culture of gobal society, mainly United States and UK. Do a google, yahoo, and altavista search for "humour blogs" and pick out a total of 5 of blogs listed in the top 10 results of the 3 SE's and locate their contact information. Email them and pitch them link trading proposals. Hope my marketing ideas inspired you. Ps. those ideas just came off the top of my head. I do indepth marketing brainstorming for my promotions and marketing firm. Check us out for more at www.pocketbookpromotions.com
Don't pay for stumbles diggs etc. Last I saw, the cost per digg/stumble was prohibitive to a long term campaign. Also, if you're ever caught, your account will be banned and your website can be blacklisted. Naturally develop strong accounts be generating many 'online friends'. Then when you submit your website, ask them for a stumple or digg, just dont pay for it.
Spend the time to pay yourself for writing the keyword rich blog posts. They are not that hard to write and they work very well!
I would get involved with Text Message Marketing. You can get started with it a lot cheaper than you think!
I would use social bookmarking and twitter, to drive free traffic to the site. Forum post with sigs, yahoo answers with links, etc.
