it probably means there is no adwords competition, which would indicate that there is also no adsense revenue to attract with those keywords. of course, there are keywords that have no sponsored ads that are still being fought over in the listings, as the traffic is still valuable potentially. so to answer your question, probably not, but it depends on the actual keywords.

Don't let the absence of Adwords ads running stop you from targeting a particular keyword.

Many times, the keywords that don't have these types of ads are great keywords for things like building a list for the simple fact that you do not have
    very much competition.

Depending on what your niche is come up with something to give away from potential search engine visitors and then jump all over those keywords through either articles or even through Adwords.

The fact that there are no paid ads running means one of two things to me:

    1. The keyword doesn't have much commercial intent meaning that people that use that particular phrase are not likely to buy.

    2. You have discovered a keyword that nobody else knows about :)

Regardless of which category you fall under, there is still a way to make the keyword profitable with a little bit of testing.

I don't even know why I made this thread, I could of just logged into Adwords and checked for myself.

Thanks for your advice, I'm going to run with this and see where it takes me.

I think something is wrong, I just checked a very popular artist and no sponsored ads came up.

I checked adwords and it says there's no competition. wtf?

When you search for a particular keyword and there are no Google ads, this beyond doubt means there is no money in that keyword market. There are sites but no traffic to that keyword.
