If you could give 1 tip, what would it be?

Small changes can bring big results. Make a change, see how it does. If CTR goes up, keep the change. Nothing sadder than wasted traffic.

 

Focus on getting a large amount of clicks per day. Most people focus on ad placement and ctr, which is cool, but to me the number of clicks are not often taken into consideration. If you get 250 clicks per day, you should be making a killing in adsense, even if you are not in a mainstream industry where ad clicks pay a lot.

 

If there is only one tip to be considered, it's:
make sure the adsense code is in your pages before complaining that ads aren't displaying.

I know that sounds stupid, but I've had friends complaining about no ads and it turned out the code was commented out -- DOH.

More seriously though, there isn't really any one single tip that I'd consider invaluable. The following is probably the best I cna come up with:
1) ensure that the ads are placed in the correct areas on your site
2) ensure the ads are tagetted to your audience.
3) drive traffic, traffic, traffic and more traffic.

I would advise to not build a site just for adsense, I've had load of sites submitted to my directory that were built for adsense and to be honest they are shit. Pick a topic you know something about build a quality site then add adsense.

 

Work hard and never give up.

I remember placing an ad on my very RICH traffic site at a place where anyone could hardly see it & trust me ppl were eager to clik on it..LOL... This was b4 adsense tho

I know this is a bit of an old post, but I can assure you that even with over double the amount of clicks mentioned, you don't make a killing when google pays you $0.06-$0.09/click.

 

Concentrate on the traffic to your site, get people who are interested in your content to come to your site in large enough numbers and adsense will make you money.

Change the placement and look of the ads but make sure you know what placement and look worked well for you, you must track your testing or you will not know what worked for you.

 

More ads != more money

 

Content!

Content is king. Build it (market it) and they will come. Then they will click.

 

I suggest One(1) well placed ad block on a page with quality, relevant content.

One ad block helps improve the quality of ads that get served as well as their payout, it works for me.

 

Choose a niche market, take time to research. Then watch the traffic come flooding in.

 

I am not a professional, so I can only say is DON'T BE GREEDY...
Be patient..

and use channels to monitor ur income if you think that some page is doing good, make it even better. If you think some page is not doing good, than make it even better

Also try to make the site more dynamic in nature. Fresh content is important. get some feeds. some user interactiviy is important errrr..was this thread about adsense tips

Open a site on mesothomelia and asbestos. There aren't nearly enough of them out there. And oh yeah, traffic, traffic, traffic.

Add a lot of content. A lot. I am just in the middle of adding more. It's definatly something I should have done before.
