If you believe morality is handed down by god.....

If you believe "morality" is handed down, implanted, or constructed by god, how would your behaviour change if tomorrow it was proven to you beyond doubt that there is no god?

If tomorrow we found out, in some way, that there can be no god, how would that discovery alter your moral compass? Or would it, as i suspect, not alter it at all?

If you wouldn't start raping, murdering and stealing on the revelation that god doesn't exist, how can morality require a god?

Are you trying to say that its only the fear of law or god that stops people from raping, murdering and stealing? Speaks a lot about your character.

I am not an atheist like you :D
There are two kind of people in the world
Category 1 : Who has got a heart which is capable of receiving and giving love(no I am not talking about sex) and compassion ,etc

Category 2: Who has got a stone like heart which is capable of only spreading hatred, who mistakes lust for love ,etc

The great models of category 2 people are hitler ,etc
The great models of category 1 people are Buddha , Jesus ,etc.

Forget about religion, God is pure love , if one's heart belongs to category 2
and he does not know what is love - no amount of arguments can help them .

Yeah, nice preaching rhetoric. Sadly we aren't any closer to you actually answering the questions posed in this thread.

If tomorrow we found out, in some way, that there can be no god, how would that discovery alter your moral compass? Or would it, as i suspect, not alter it at all?

If you wouldn't start raping, murdering and stealing on the revelation that god doesn't exist, how can morality require a god?

Last try: (as usual like religius fanatics does not want to listen anything against them , so does atheist)
God manifests in humans showing their good quality
God does not exist means love does not exists , compassion does not exists , kindness does not exits, morality does not exist,
    ethics does not exist -
only bad quality like lust , greed and anger exists , so just relax the law of the state for a month and say that
anyone is allowed to do anything for a month and they will not be prosecuted and see
how your great aethism save your country.

My God, you're fucking insane XD

Love doesn't exist without god? As much as I'm a romantic, love has a very scientific explanation - unless of course science wouldn't exist without god either? :p

While there are laws against rape, against murder, against abuse, etc. there are NO laws against greed and a lack of compassion - as an Atheist, there is no god in my life - I still choose to be compassionate and kind.

Even if you argue that this is because god exists and I don't have to believe in him/her/them/it to be "good" - how do you explain the whole "love" phenomenon being explained by science?

You don't need to be a religious person to have morals, so really your question is a moot point.

You are equating love with lust , what you feel while having sex with new new partners is NOT love , it is lust and some amount of affection .
If I am fcking insane you are fcking idiot as per understanding of love is concerned.

    Lol. 'Tard :p

I said that there is a scientific explanation for love - not lust; while of course there is one for lust, I was not referring to it.

Also, what I feel while having sex with "new new partners" - I'm not sure if you wrote "new" twice by mistake, or if you are just referring to VERY new partners. In either case - you're quite misguided.

You are running on the assumption that I believe love is what I feel when having sex with a "new new partner" - this is not at all the case. I have not loved every sexual partner I've had, nor have I ever been under any other impression. I can separate love and lust without difficulty, something you seem to be under the impression that no Atheist could possibly do.

Lust is a sexual attraction - it's a physical desire.

Love is intimacy, monogamy, nursing your partner when they are ill, providing for them when they are unable - love is comforting them and supporting them - it's holding hands while you discuss how best to take care of an ill and elderly parent.

If you feel that this is in fact a "fcking" (what, you can't say "Fucking" now? Is "fcking" somehow less offensive to your god?) idiot's view of love then I truly do pity you.

*Side note: You want a scientific explanation for love and not lust? Research the effects of vasopressin regarding sex. This a fact, not a theory - and while it robs love of mystery, it will at least educate you.

You are just repeating the same trite unsupported claim that god is responsible for morality and trotting out the old circular argument of "god is responsible for X, X exists, therefor god exists". I didn't ask for trite rhetoric. have another go.

If tomorrow we found out, in some way, that there can be no god, how would that discovery alter your moral compass? Or would it, as i suspect, not alter it at all?

If you wouldn't start raping, murdering and stealing on the revelation that god doesn't exist, how can morality require a god?

Fck your vasopressin fact, I do not believe in it just because you say it. Have you read einstein's paper on E = m*c squared? Do you understand even 1% of it? No, you just believe in it.

I personally know at least ten kids like you , who used to go on dating a new guy every week and thinking by having sex with new guy every week they are blessing the whole world and then after few years they end up being victim of rape , molestation , unwanted pregnancies , few abortions, STD, drug abuse ,etc. which forces them to go to a mental asylum or drug rehabilitation center or commit sucide or atleast they stop behaving like an idiot after learning their lesson of life in the hard way.

If you dont want to, or are incapable of answering, would you mind not spamming the thread. I understand it's probably more convenient for you to reduce this thread to meaningless preaching and juvenile rhetoric, but i have put these questions to you a number of times and people who been very polite in entertaining your cowardice when it comes to answering them. Would you mind either answering them, or going away?
