.....does that mean you have done something wrong? Does that mean you will come out of sandbox when you have rectified the problem?
The sandbox is an domain aging filter on certain competitive keywords. It doesn't mean you have done anything wrong, it means google "evaluates" new domains and gives a advantage to older domains. It can last 90 day to a year or so. Unrelated to the sandbox, are penalties, which can be given for a number of reasons (hidden text, keyword stuffing, various blackhat seo, etc). You can use google webmaster tools to request a reinclusion if you have corrected the problem.
I have a site that is 3 months old. For certain search terms I'm down on page 6 of the search results but then at certain times of the day I'm on page 1 at #4. Have you seen this behaviour before?
Is your site new? Do you think it's google releasing us from the sandbox or is it just a glitch in the system?
If you are in fact "sandboxed" you should spend the quality time building links, building quality content, and perhaps trying a few social media campaigns. A friend of mine took his site to nearly 100k hits a day in a couple months doing social media, a month or two before Google cared at all about his site. After that he had thousands of links and a solid PR, but his social traffic still eclipses his Google traffic by a lot. Google isn't the only source, think outside the box.
My site is now coming up to 5 months old and seems to have stabilised for the last week on page 1. I hope it sticks there.
Yeah... on one google server you might be on page one, but another still on page 4... wait for it to stable out
