I was just wondering, if google ban you is it usually at a certain point? e.g. just before they pay you...?

    Just curious...

If you are referring to a ban on using adsense it tends to be right before people get their cheque through the post. I havent been banned so cannot say for sure, but when I see others crying on forums about it they always say they just made their first $100 and were banned.

I guess when the cheques go out they do a fraud check and scan your IP you log in with and scan against any clicks and if they match they say good bye to you :)

They suspend people at all times of the month, but there does seem to be a higher incidence of suspensions when they do their monthly click audit.

    Hi,

that's quite funny, the same questions came into my mind and I was about to post it.

The thing is I'm new to adsense and at the very beginning I haven't really realized that it's absolutle not good to click your ads. I clicked a few times because I just wanted to know what kind of ad is displayed on my site. Just don't wanted to spam my users with crappy ad ... however I haven't clicked my own ad since 6 weeks and 100$ are near now.

So last but not least my question: does google show any kind of tolerance or are even the couple of clicks I made a lot too much ? I know I'll find it out soon ;) Nevertheless ...

My friend has his account banned just before it was time to get his cheque. He said that an enemy of his was clicking repeatedly on his ads in order to get him banned. He said that he mailed google and they took no notice.
Anyone hear of something like that?

Not sure if this is a good idea. I signed the guideline when registering for adsense so the mistake is clear. I think they won't care and just ban the account ..

No, they won't ban you for a few clicks if by "few" you mean one or two or three spaced out over a period of time, say, a week or month. They are usually tolerant about this and will let it go as accidents. But if by "few" you mean more than 3 clicks in the space of a day, yeah, they're probably gonna ban you.

On another note, I don't understand how a webmaster who understands that Adsense is PPC (PAY PER CLICK!!!) wouldn't "know" that it's fraud to click on his own ads on purpose? How does one not grasp that this is bad, when the name of the type of program itself is right there?

    HMM "not a good idea"?

Come on is it a good idea for them to find out on their own and then ban you because you clicked on your ads and never told them about this. There are many people who for whatever reason (ignorance, stupidity or any other reason you can think of) that do this and then realise they made a mistake and shoot them an email. In most cases if it is an isolated case then they will simply remove the clicks and the money made from your account associated with the invalid clicks and tell you how to view ads that are served to your site for future reference without clicking your ads. If you just let it go then they are going to see this as intentional deception and you will most likely receive a nasty email saying you are no longer welcome. Your choice though.
