If you are "banned" from google does the bot still come?

I have sites that I"m sure are banned but the bot still comes it just never lists me! Is that possible?

Also: If you TOTALLY redesign your site is it possible that google will lookk for old pages continually get 404's and then never list your site?

 

Yes Googlebot still crawls. And redesigning won't help most likely. You must fix the problem that caused the banishment and then request re inclusion through the webmaster center. But I don't think your banned. I have seen many webmasters like you and most of them aren't banned they just were never indexed. Please post your url in www.mydomain.com format.

FYI - if people post their URLs in the Google forum their post will be moved to the reviews section. The Google forum is not for discussion about specific sites. If they don't have privlages to post in that forum the thread/post will be deleted.

 

Does your site show up in Google with a site:domain.com search? (without the www)

No it does not unfortunately.

 

First I'd check the sites history at http://www.archive.org/. See if it had a tainted past.

Next I'd set up an account, if you don't already have one with Google Webmaster Tools. Set up a basic Google sitemap and submit it. Once that's all up to date, there is a link for Reinclusion Request. It's slightly fucked up in that you have to check a box agreeing that you were bad and tried to cheat, even if you did nothing wrong, and that you promise not to do it again. Just make sure you do check that, and then there's a little textarea to describe what the actual problem is.

I haven't actually ever gotten a site re-included yet, I'm still trying on my one banned domain, but I know others who have, so it does work.

Well I can't help a user for certain questions without a url.

well I just used archive.org to check one of my websites, shows that after 2005 -- no pages have been indexed, I got the domain in late 2006. No index for me either.

Depends on your infraction. Fix EVERYTHING that is shady. Get rid of anything you would not use if search engines did not exist. Once everything is tip top goto www.google.com/sitemaps and request re inclusion.
