if site's title tag is greater than it's limit of 60 character or 100 character than search engine google or any other will penelise this site or not??
No! Not at all. There will be no penalty whatsoever. The search engine will only pick up to its limit of characters and the rest will be left out which is not in the webmasters' interest.
As per my opinion google will cut after cross the limit of title, description and keyword. There is no penalize and no any disadvantage for that.
Google won't penalize it. It simply ignores it. Not sure about other search engines, but they aren't that important compare to Google anyway.
Simple Answer, The limit is 70 Seventy Characters in Length, but you can use more then 70. But make sure don't do stuffing of keywords in the title. The title tag can be up to a normal 60-70 characters including spaces. But.... 1) most serach engines will show only the first words or some part of your title 2) keyword repeation will lead to penalty , so write nornal 3) the FIRST keyword is the most important, the second less .... e.t.c. 4) titles with less words are stronger than title with more words 5) put your site name at last! 6) dont use useless words 7) you can use UPPERCASE on your title.
Please, please don't use UPPERCASE in your title. It is the equivalent of screaming at your readers and turns many people off (me included!).
The 60- 70 cc limit refers to the visible portion in SERPs, no penalty for going over - it will, however be cut off and will end with a "..." There is no "penalty" per se, but you'd need some serious luck to rank for a KW stuffed title tag. cheers, -e
