If this is not the forum for discussing PR, what is? Newbie help please!

Well, the title says it all really. I want to ask some questions about a site I run that has a very healthy PR9 at the moment, and I'm not entirely sure how it got there, how I can retain that or how I can make good use of that.

If someone would be so kind as to point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.

So what are you asking then?

BTW the right forum for site specific SEO questions is >Reviews>SEO for which you have not yet met the minimum requirements.

I hope you're not reading the PR bar right to left thinking the white indicates the PR value :)

Anyway, there's only one way to get PR and that's by getting links. You got a PR9 because you probably got lots of high PR links. That's all there's to it, as simple as that.

    Or the PR is spoofed.

Oh, I know what it is, can't quite work out how it went from a 7 to a 9. Not heavily into this aspect, to be honest. Hence, not sure where to look for advice about what I can do with it.

It must've been that a higher ranked website added your site somewhere in theirs so that Google picked that up and gave you a higher PR.

If you want to keep your PR at 9 you need to start putting links to me all over your website. That's the only way to be sure. :p j/k

Honestly though, gratz on your monster PR and just keep doing whatever the heck it is you're doing.

Actually, it seems that PR9 was your old PR and 7 is your new...

That is, datacenters that have the new PR show yours as 7, it seems.

How's that work then? Is that to say that someone else is spoofing for some reason? It's certainly not something I've done.

Can you tell I'm not sure what this is all about? ;-)

Like I would know the answer

But I can tell you that someone here recently, if I remember correctly, was selling links on a PR9 page for about $450 a month, and he was selling about 10. So $4,500 a month. A search through Link Sales will tell you, but people were very happy to pay.

I hope the 'sponsors' on your site are your own sites, or are paying that much! I'm not aware of a more lucrative approach unless you also get millions of pageviews in which case some other kinds of CPC/CPM ads are presumably possible.

If you want to give me a free link for this useful and profitable piece of information...
