so you believe in continuing the welfare state? i believe in being kind to people, but if you're referring to government aid to "the helpless" then no i don't think that's kind to the rest of America.. and it isn't kind to them. they owe it to themselves to run their lives without the governments interference.

I think Rebecca is talking about compassion, not socialism.

Rebecca, the Granny Warriors are these wild old ladies, I think from NC, who painted their RV and drove all over the country for RP because the UN or one of the global groups was trying to make it illegal to have pet monkeys and they have one. It's one of those strange American stories.

I believe treating others with kindness, respect and dignity is a positive attribute. Kucinich may gain very little from being a vegan politically. He does it because he doesn't want to hurt anyone, even an animal. In my mind, that says alot about his character.

I'm sure personally Kucinich is a great man. i respect him for bringing up the UFO thing at the one debate. but personality and politics are 2 different things, it's all about issues and what you stand for. isn't kucinich basically against the 2nd amendment?

a bit i wanna add about the compassionate thing.. everyone kills to survive, even vegans. they kill vegetables in order to survive.. just because something moves and you kill it to eat, doesn't mean it's inhumane or out of the ordinary. plants are living organisms too, i really don't know how dennis sleeps at night :(

in terms of health though, fruits and vegetables are superior to meat.

Yea, the gun people don't like him very much.:) Really, I just like that he is a peaceful person. In other areas, he has alot in common with Ron Paul. Ron Paul has a much better chance of winning though.:)

It's hard to live without ever harming another living being. I won't eat any meat at all, but my dog is not a vegetarian. I love my dog, so I make him chicken.:)

This is a good point, Nate. Joseph Campbell actually makes this point in the Power of Myth, I think it was -- my memory may be failing on that, been close to 20 years, maybe. The tragic thing of life is that life feeds on life. We're all locked in to it.

well at least you acknowledge his position on the 2nd amendment. i won't argue with you on why he is wrong on that.

thanks northpoint, i think people should question if nature has the same conscience as humans to feel pain. biblically i would say no that's what separates humans from animals, but others will disagree. there really is no way of telling..

    yet?

Are you saying that you do not think a dog can feel pain?

i'm sure it can. does it feel it the same way humans feel it?

do fish feel pain as a bear sinks its teeth into it? what about ants getting mutilated by spiders?

there's a lot of pain in this world, i'm not sure God would have it be that nature ought to feel all of it..

    That's one Lucky Dog!;)

    Less Gov.'s a good thing.

RP seems to be most willing to enforce that idea, and I whole-heartedly salute the fact he consistently refers to the Founders when highlighting points of the Constitution. God Bless RP.
