My guess is 50% or more, if it is really 17$ worth keyword, publisher might get more than 5$, but anybody ever reported that high rate.
Only google might be able to give you something satisfactory on this question... If you are smart priced, you will make even less I think. Then there are so many other factors. Bye
1) Google gives 70% to most publishers, 90% to premium publishers. 2) Due to smart pricing, advertisers can have (and do have) different prices for Content (read: AdSense) sites then for Search sites (Google Web search, search partners et cetera). 3) The max bid shown in the AdWords keyword tool is a max bid, and advertisers never pay more then 1 cent more than the advertiser below. 4) Ad blocks on your site are optimized for the highest total revenue (i.e. CTR times CPC), not just CPC. 5) Website visitors will not always click the highest ad (and thus the best-paying) in an ad block.
The publisher will get at least half, if not more. However, i just doubt if anyone will pay that much for a single click on the content network.
