If someone's title is "banned", does that actually mean they have been banned?

First off, thanks for looking :)

This is probably a stupid question, but I haven't been here long enough yet to know how everything works. Someone contacted me via PM with an offer to sell me advertising space on their site. I happened to look at one of their posts after clicking on their profile, and where my title says "Grunt" for example, theirs says "Banned".

Does that mean they were banned from the forum, or is this person just trying to be cute by giving himself a custom title? Again, please accept my apology for the (probably) foolish question. Some forums allow their members to generate their own titles, so I wasn't sure if this was such a case. If this person was kicked off the site I'll keep my money.

    Thank you!

    Chris

If their username is red, they are banned.

Thank you for the information DigitalPoint. I just rechecked, and their username is indeed red.

You cannot edit your titles here on DP.

However, if you donate $50 here, you can have a custom title. Limited time offer. :)

You should consider that they may have been banned temporarily and not permanently.
