I have use Paypal for years and have not had a single problem with them yet.
If you get yourself involved in shady things then things will fall apart when it comes to payment.

I've gotten an account permanently banned. All US buyers, selling a tangible product, no disputes, chargebacks or anything else. Everything was legitimate. Being an owner of a processing company, I thought the situation to be a little ironic. In general paypal bans the right people, but believe me, they sometimes get it wrong.

Wanna know why you can't pay with any other payment processor on eBay? It's because Paypal owns eBay :)

It's called a monopoly and sometimes it can be illegal...Just like when Paypal tried to stop people paying via. Bank Deposit in Australia (which obviously didn't work out for them :p).

I only use paypal to buy from well known stores. I rarely use it to hire someone nowadays...

The reason for PayPal usage is its the most popular payment solution. So the new users have no other option except using a paypal account to make transactions with other people who have paypal.

I guess the answer lies in the fact that it has become sort of an industry standard.
so many people have gotten their lives and cards affected by Paypal that even the horrifying stories won't keep you from using it.
Most merchants use pp to sell products (that maybe another reason)
Ebay will never die, and along with it PP will survive
With every good thing, some people face bad incidents. Think of it this way: paypal has over 150 million users. Now, even if 10,000 of then have horrifying stories. You've got 14 million and 9,90,000 people who are having a good time with paypal

I a bit hate paypal, coz the commission is high .
But it is widely accepted both in paying or receiving money .

I totally agree with you, guy .

Opinions on such points will always vary, simply because people's experiences vary. I've used all three services, myself. My own opinion happens to be that MoneyBookers is incomparably the worst. Their idea of "customer service", in my experience, is a complete joke.

PayPal tends to be absolutely fine until something goes wrong, when it's a disaster: terribly slow-moving and can be a real nightmare from the merchant's perspective, with accounts inexplicably being frozen for 6 months (it's never happened to me but I know many people who've had problems). AlertPay, by widespread consent, has been very steadily and consistently improving over the last 2 - 3 years.

For me, the solution is to have several such accounts available and keep as little money in them as possible. I appreciate that this solution isn't helpful to everyone.

Ever since I started the MMO "career", Paypal is there for me and I found no problem yet. Well if I do have it is not with them but the banks that connected to them. I can't find any service better than Paypal, not yet.

The percentage of people having problem with Paypal are small compare to people that is satisfied with their service. Plus, Paypal is also is a well know payment processing compare to others.
