If you're linking out with a do follow link then some of your PR juice will go to those sites. If you're linking to more sites then are linking back to you, then you've just got problems.

It depends on your backlinks. If they are much stronger then your website then I think nothing to worry about. But if you have weak backlinks and there are many outbound links than you have to get more backlinks or remove some of outbound.

I don't think the number of outbound links will affect your PR.. it is the quality of backlinks that matters :)

I think that the answer is YES. You need to make all your outbound links a NOFOLLOW attribute.

I do not believe it affects it unless Google finds out that you are selling links. There are tons of sites that have tons of links on their site and they maintain a high PR. For example forums! DP has many links going out and they are do follow, do you see them lose their PR as they increase links. If that was the case, they would change to no follow in a flash.

This is another myth that webmasters have started to make themselves look like they have knowledge. there is no facts in this. PR is gained and lost by many factors including the quality and quantity of the back links pointing to a site. Sites could lose some juice for being non related or for bought or sold links but not for the outbound links. This has been my experience for years and only facts direct from Google will convince me otherwise.

This does not mean you go out and sell hundreds of links on your site because this will look unnatural and that will cause Google to look closer and you will lose PR because they will flag you as a selling links.

It just happened to me that my PR just hit a zero from 3. For the first PR update i had worked on getting lot of backlinks and then i diverted my attention on trying to link other websites and my PR just hit the bottom!. :(

you have to be more specific with the question. do you mean domain PR or inner pages PR?

will the domain PR go down? No.

but if you have a lot of inner pages, and only have backlinks to your homepage, and you also have a lot of links offsite from your homepage, then yes you are diverting some of the PR that could go inwards, out to other peoples sites rather than in to your own pages.
