am looking at my adsense stats and I realize that most of the revenue comes from 1 particular ad unit. For the experienced adsense publishers out there my question is this:

Does it make sense to eliminate the other, less paying/hardly paying units?

I did that in one of my sites.
I think its better... it get more space and at the same i think i get more revelant (more $) for 1 unit.
Just test it and see how it goes with you :)

I recommend to use only few adunits per page. In that way the highest paying ads get displayed.

It's a good idea to replace them with other advertising options (affiliate programs from CJ, clickbank, etc.)

    so what am i reading?...
I have 3 ad box on my page now... does that means that if i only have 1, the revenue i make will potentially be higher, becos viewers are given only high paying ads available.
