if not index or updated, google count link as backlinks?

    [changed]Quest here:if i put a link that point to my site on a pr 7 page. and when does it take effect to my site for rank in serp? is it the time when google update (reindex)the pr 7 page or when google know it(detect link on pr 7 page but not (updated)reindex the pr7 page)

    what i thought is "google know it "not equal to "google index it"
    if google know it,maybe count it as backlink.

    if its not cached, it doesn't exist as far as google is concerned

    I am not totally sure I understand your question, but I think you are asking about when exactly Google will 'count' your backlink, when it is first found, or when an updated version of the page containing the backlink makes it into the index.

    I think only the engineers at Google can answer this question with any authority, but the way I understand it, the backlink will not have any effect until the updated version of the page appears in the index.

    Note: Even though Google 'knows' about the backlink, it will not show up in the link count for the page (using link:www.yoursite.com) until Google does it's next backlink update.
