If not Hostgator, who would you suggest for a basic reseller package?

I've been doing some research, looking for a good reseller host. I don't need too much right now, only have 2-3 clients that definitely want their own website and a handful of prospective clients.

I only want to spend $20-30/month to start, and Hostgator's 'Aluminum' package looked perfect. I was about to purchase it, but after reading through the posts here in Web Hosting, I see many of you are NOT impressed with the customer service decline since they were bought out by EIG. That made me freeze in my tracks.

So, for those not happy with Hostgator, who would you suggest? Who would you use if you could move (or are planning to move) your hosting to another service?

Go for something like Ferngullygraphics.com they are ok for starting out with. One issue is they do not offer WHMCS license. If you visit the webhostingtalk (dot) com forum, you will find many places where you can find hostgator alternatives, some will even provide white label end user support in addition to a whmcs license. While I can list a few, I dislike recommending companies that I have not personally tried...

Have you tried eleven2? I recently changed my hosting to them, quite responsive.

Bluehost is really nice, they're also well known. I am currently using their regular hosting package, and they're great, only been down once throughout the whole year, and I've been with them for about 2-3 years by now. Their reseller plan is pretty decent, starts with 100gb at 19.95th/monthly rate. Try researching with about 3-5 reseller company and pick from there, that way you get more options and compare by features and prices.

As a reliable reseller hosting provider I advise you Justhost company. They provide Anytime Money Back Guarantee, high uptime ( at least 99.9%) and professional 24/7 support.

I strongly believe that hostforweb.com is flexible enough to meet all your specific needs.
Pricing is great, over all policy is amazing, support is always available and are excellent help. I have never seen such an elite service!
If you are tired and frustrated of other hosts playing around with you, including me, I would highly recommend this host for you.

Apart from Hostgator I think HostPapa or A Small Orange reseller packages may suitable for you.

These posts most probably look paid. Try to avoid recommendations from paid forum posters!

Try fatcow, they have a reseller program similar to hostgator: http://www.fatcow.com/reseller/

*On a personal note, I used fatcow in the past as a hosting provider and it was good. It's a reliable service with a great customer support.

I don't recommend you going with a company owned by EIG, they have all crappy servers (list : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_International_Group ).

I recommend you CrocWeb, they have all what you need to start your business, their server are super fast. Try them and tell me after what do you think.

They are all owned by EIG, and recently HostGator has moved their servers to bluehost's DC, they piss off customers by long servers downtime. If you want to risk your business, then you should go with one of these EIG owned!!
