If your site is already in yahoo, why would you need to pay anything?

Are you saying you paid for the listing and expiration is coming up? Or, are you saying that it was added without paying? If the ladder, then why worry about it since it was added without payment.

The Yahoo directory will give you good in term of high PR back link and will improve your Yahoo search result. if you got 299$ to spare, go for it. if it's high budget for you , i suggest you to spent it on buying high PR backlinks elsewhere which might be much cheaper.

lol, no! (unless you want something changed, i.e. moved to a different category)

I was lucky enough to get one site in before the implemented the $299 fee, I have two others that I have to pay for.

If you're already listed in the Yahoo directory, I wouldn't submit - it'll be a waste fo time and money.

    https://ecom.yahoo.com/dir/reference/submit
2.6 Please note that Yahoo! Directory Submit is only open to sites that DO NOT ALREADY EXIST in the Directory. Do not submit your site to the Yahoo! Directory Submit program if your site already appears in the Directory. IF YOU SUBMIT A SITE THAT ALREADY EXISTS IN THE DIRECTORY THROUGH YAHOO! DIRECTORY SUBMIT, YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL BE CHARGED THE THEN-CURRENT, APPLICABLE FEE FOR EXPEDITED REVIEW. Nor should you submit change requests to the Yahoo! Directory Submit program. If you need to make a change to your listing in the Directory (this includes changing the URL, title, and/or description of the existing site), you must use the change form, NOT Yahoo! Directory Submit. IF YOU SUBMIT CHANGE REQUESTS THROUGH YAHOO! DIRECTORY SUBMIT YOU WILL BE CHARGED THE THEN-CURRENT, APPLICABLE FEE FOR EXPEDITED REVIEW, AND THE CHANGES YOU SUBMIT WILL NOT BE MADE.

To check if your site is indexed/listed in yahoo. type "site:url" in yahoo's search bar (without the ""). :)
You don't need to be in the yahoo directoy to be indexed in yahoo.

normally you might be index in yahoo because the bot crawl to your site, but if you want to be listed in yahoo directory, you need to apply for it or pay for it.. (pay is not worth it though, but free one take long time...)

Are you talking about being indexed at Yahoo search?
That's quite different than being listing in Yahoo directory. If increase of pagerank and serp of your site will return you $299/yr you should, if not..
