I heard that switching servers can ruin rankings.... is that true?

What about if my IP address changes?

Dreamhost mentions that your IP address might change, and to pay $3.95/mo. to make sure it stays unique

If IP address changes, can that hurt my rankings on Google??

don't worry. If won't affect your rankings, that's for sure.

No chance at all if the IP is not balck listed from G. But for ur case no need to worry bcz from dreamhost. And also google ranking on the domain and not on the IP

See that your site is not down (for a long time) when you change your IP.

I dont think IP address change can affect ranking in any way, once the site/server is not down.

if you are targeting a specific country, it is better to host at that country.
if your new hosting firm is not at the targeting country, you may loose some ranking.

No, it doesn't really matter, unless you have downtime while switiching servers. I'm talking 2 -3 days of downtime.

Your site should be fine, I wouldn't worry about it.
