If My Domain is .Org instead of .Com, will it affect sales & Google Ratings?

Each of my stores has a separate domain name, i.e., 2008Software.com 2008Audio.com, etc., that are not Amazon extensions. My stores have very high Google Rankings. My question is, I just got 2 domain names: JewelryandWatches.org and ToolsandHardware.org, that are not Dot Com Names as .org was the only available domain suffix for these phrases available and I was lucky to get that. What I'm wondering is: 1. Does the fact that I will have these stores on a .Org name going to lower my Google rankings or lower people who enter the site? I'm not concerned with people remembering the extension as I have a Visible Bookmark Click Link on the Home Page. Bottom line is, would I be better off having some "BS" name like hypothetically MyjewelryandWatches.com instead of a direct product name like JewelryandWatches.org?

I do fine with .org Amazon stores. Rather have a good keyword .org than a crappy keyword.com

Extensions do not make any difference (as long as they are not so obsure that the visitors are wary). Your .orgs will do just as good as a .com

Rankings don't have anything to do with the extension. Its just that people easily remember .com but you are not worried about this.

Yeah, google will rank a .org just as high as a .com if you got good SEO skills :) Although it'll make a difference in people easily commited to memory, but you'll be getting most of your traffic from SEs i would presume with a site like that. So no worries :D

In the interest of making it easier for your web visitor to remember, I'd always go with the .com if it's available, and if the .com name is taken by someone else, I'd leave it alone, or risk confusing your visitors. Your can protect your domain's branding by purchase .com , .net and .org extensions for your domain. Regarding the search engines, there isn't much of a difference that I've seen, I mean all types of domain extensions show up as search results.

    thanks,

I'll take .orgs when I need keyword domains (low-level sites).

But for bigger stuff, I won't take anything but a .com, because all my promo effort could be benefiting the .com owner if I do.

High-level sites need brand more than keywords. If it's really important, buy the .com,.net and .org. Make someone fish with the .info and other crappy extensions. :)
