Howdy. Been lurking around, decided to start participating! Here's the question: Was reading (was going to link, but since im a noob it wont let me )and came across the following: "Make sure your web server supports the If-Modified-Since HTTP header. This feature allows your web server to tell Google whether your content has changed since we last crawled your site. Supporting this feature saves you bandwidth and overhead." So I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this If-Modified-Since HTTP feature and knows how it works. - Does it automatically page Google saying "i'm updated"? - What hosts have it? - Is it any good? PS Im writing for SEO company, but wanna get deeper into SEO and learn more! Any response appreciated!
I think it is something like syntax and need some parameters to tell search engines if the page has been modified since last access of robot . You should contact to your hosting provider. I have seen some descriptions somewhere but don remem.
Tnx. Bit too complicated for me thou =) If anyone interested Google: If-Modified-Since HTTP Number 4 (webmaster world) and forums below in results have quick bursts on this. (still cant post links)
