If link bar isn't getting clicked, should I just remove it?

Link to my site is in my signature.

Well, I guess the obvious answer would be yes, just remove it, but I want to describe the situation first.

I have a regular rectangular ad at the top of my page and a link unit on the side of the page. When I had this combination I was earning between $.50 and $2.00 a day. I was so excited so I decided to put more ads up. I took some of the medium banner picture ads and threw them throughout the content of my site. About two weeks later I was getting the same amount of clicks, but I was only getting about $.05 per click.

After that I decided I should take off the banner ads because 1) no one was clicking them and 2) I was making way less money for some reason.

Now I am left with the rectangular unit at the top and the link unit on the side. The thing is, I get maybe one click on the link unit every two weeks. Its not alot obviously, but I didn't think it was hurting anything. Now, after experimenting with those banner ads, I'm wondering what would happen if I took the link units off. I wouldn't be loing many clicks, maybe 1 or two a week at MOST.

Is it worth taking them off? Will my earnings go up like they did when I took the banner ads off the page? Keep in mind that I only get 1-5 clicks a day at the moment, and they basically all come from the rectangular unit at the top of the page.

Thanks for any help, even after about 3 months, I'm still not sure how things work.

On another note: After coming to this forum around late july, my August earnings were equal to my earnings from march-july COMBINED. I'm pretty excited to say the least. Thanks to everyone here who helps out people like me =)

The more ads you have on one page , the less changes of the payout being higher, meaning if the " high bidders " of that keyword are paying XX and you only have five ads showing then one of the top five bidders gets clicks,

Now if you ad , 15 ads (three banners) thats more low bidders ads showing, so less chance of higher clicks,

    Did you understand that>?
