Hi, I just launched a hosting directory. Wanted to know, if its right to manually filling yourself data in directory. Or should i get permission from sites or asking them to submit theirself ? Please guide me. Regards
I sometimes just go and submit it myself to get started. As long as you don't copy their information on their site and give them a link which you will I would think they would appreciate it. I would anyway. Also, if you join their affiliate programs if they have one then you could link to it using your affiliate link and then that would be a reason for you doing it.
It's better if you go and insert at least a few dozens manually. Just make sure these are quality sites. If the directory has a PR you can announce it here on DP and be sure a lot of users will submit their sites. Good luck with your directory!
It shouldnt be a problem getting your directory jump started and im pretty sure site will welcome links with open arms, just make sure you write your own version of what they are offering.
It's a pretty good way to start off your directory. Hosting sites listed on your directory that you placed yourself should be more than happy to accept it as they're getting free backlinks and advertisements.
