If it's 'on topic' can a contest be placed in almost any section?

    Hi,

Most of the DP contests are in the 'services' section, which is a good place for logos and stuff.

What if I'm starting a contest for programmers, and I want to increase the odds the same people who give tons of advice and help to others (for free) will see the post; Then it would be OK to place in the PHP (or ASP) section, is this right?

Most of the contests are in the "contests" forum.
If you run a contest of any type, it should be there.
Place it somewhere else and you run the risk of getting an infraction.

Members asked for a contest forum as so many contests were being run, so it was created.

As iowadawg says, contests can only be in the Contests section.
