You could always pay someone to read the articles in my signature and implement some of it Kidding aside, you'll get more bang for your buck spending a little on an SEO expert to fix any obvious issues and the rest on quality articles and stories. I hear (real) personal stories about bankruptcy, losing ones home and almost losing ones home can help boost the value of a "how to avoid foreclosure" page BIGTIME if they all link to it. Tip: links that didn't exist on a page when it was first written don't seem to get full value during later crawls. It's important to have links (both internal and external) planned as you write the article.

Don't waste money buying links from directories... For me, links from directories are just useless. Instead, links from relevant sites can help you more. Use the free ways to increase your traffic like submitting the articles to social bookmarking sites,etc.
Officially you can't. However the editors are humans. Humans do anything for money @ desmondchui - don't spend money on directories.
If you can pull off a couple of succesful linkbaits with that money you will be off to a rocking start!
If I were you, I will hire a ghost writer, writes 20 quality articles x $5 =100 + 1 PR News x$20 Then use submityourarticles.com and insare.com to distribute these articles = $80 And submit to PRweb.com (SEO VISIBILITY) = $200 Total $400
Be forwarned that the vast majority of article directories are now no follow and some place hyperlinks throughout your article to steal any potential visitors. I distributed through Articlemarketer, one article got to over 800 sites and all I got was 7 links the rest were no follow.
