Our company is selling hats online and we're looking for an affiliate program that we can join to help us promote our merchandise. Any suggestions what would be the best one to join? CJ seems too high in fees to startup...any other network that is good?

I personally think you should start by doing it yourself then hopefully out grow that option and then move up to custom software or network or something.

    iDevAffiliate is a good one.

Well, what type of products are you selling? If it is a digital product then clickbank is probably your best bet. If you're a retailer of some sort then maybe you should take a look at ShareASale. The fees are much lower then CJ.

Shareasale is the best network for the price. You get what you pay for and affiliates love SAS therefore they have lots of good ones.

To be honest if I were an affiliate and read that you said $500 was too much, I would question how committed you were to building an affiliate sales channel.

Honestly if you can't afford the $500 then you really shouldn't get into affiliate marketing as a merchant. I don't think there is any cheaper affiliate networks which would deliver any results.

Well i have never done any kind of promoting through an affiliate program. I want to make sure that if i join i will get results. I dont want to join an affiliate network and pay all their signup fees just to find out that i get 1 sale per month
