If I'm running adsense on my site - adwords advertising is a no-no, right?

I was thinking of running an adwords ad campaign and unknowingly realized I run adsense on my site. So basically, I might as well forget about using adwords....right?

It's not against the ToS, but it is something they frown on in most circumstances. They don't allow arbitrage (using adwords to drive traffic to make money from adsesne), but if your site has a clear and obvious function that would justify advertising other than the adsense ads, you may not have a problem. However, if they judge that you are using adwords for the purposes of adwords, they most probably will give you a very low quality score, which will drive the cost up, in order to make it unprofitable for you.

Magda: Here is my primary business: www.danscartoons.com - do you think then, an adwords campaign would be condusive to what I have in mind? In essence, to promote the site and my services? Without violating anything in the TOS adsense stipulates? Curious.

My point of view: I think they won't because you have a clear tag for your site and its well looking for what its ment to.

This is just my point of view.
