Hi, I've a confusion, please clear that. For example if I've website www.abc.com and I've removed that from search engines, will it remove abc.com also from search engines or shall i need to remove it also?
hi manoj, Rather than removing www.abc.com, redirect www.abc.com to abc.com - this is because if you had worked hard to promote www.abc.com version and if you had to remove the version.. all the efforts which you have spent in promoting www.abc.com goes in vain... the best and most search friendly thing is to redirect www.abc.com to abc.com - this is commonly referred as WWW canonicallization hope it is clarified.. let me know if you need any more info..
Hi Sameer, Thanks for your reply. I am not going to do anything with my domain, I just want to know if in near future I'll remove www.abc.com will it also remove abc.com automatically from search engines or not? Please answer in yes or no.
Actually, there is an easy way to find out. You can just check your google ranking for abc.com. You know, by searching for "site:abc.com". Also, what exactly do you mean by "removing from the search engines"? Did you close it off with a robots.txt or what? If you did do it via robots.txt, it would also prevent abc.com from getting indexed.
