If I was to sell my blog how would I work out what its woth?

Saw this video blog on youtube about selling your blogs and was wondering how you would work out a price for a blog??

Alexa ... PR and traffic logs including niche.

One thing I hear constantly is 10X's monthly revenue. Hope that helps. Based on the 10x's what does that make it worth?

 

I have tested this link on several blogs. One makes over 500 the other over 300. Both return 0. Both have some PR and have been doing well over the last few months. So I have to question the links validity.

Even based on the 10x's rule I would probably hold on to both of them.

 

If it's an established blog you might be able to get 15x monthly revenue.

Best way to find out is to put it up for auction at Sitepoint with a reserve.

Or you can go by some simple guidlines, like:

No Traffic, No revenue - Sell for about $125
Some traffic, No revenue - Sell for about $200
Some traffic and revenue - sell for about $300
Lots of traffic and some revenue - Sell for about $475 - $500.

If you have lots of traffic and a lot of revenue you can go even higher, though I wouldn't because you make a lot of money from the blog itself!

 

What if you have a blog, but you haven't done much to monetize it.

 

sell it based on this

- How much is it earning in terms of adsense or clickbank?

- is it ranked for a keyword people are paying money for in the serps?

from that determine how much you want to sell it

if a site is worth 10 months revenue I have a site worth $70,000.
If someone were to offer that much I think I would have to sell it!
