If I wanted to make a news website...

    If I wanted to make a news website with different category's such as sport, world news, tech. Would I make a general website and install WP on all the subdomains? Would that work or is there other software to do it? Thanks for any help

    Try making forums via vBulltin if you opt for paid or otherwise use Phpbb2 with latest patches..

    WP has the ability to separate your content into categories. As so does vbulletin or other forum software. You don't need to install a WP/forum for each category.

    Ignore the reply on utilizing VBulletin...

    You can easily categorize your Wordpress articles. Just an FYI, running a global/general news website is a huge undertaking...IMO you won't be able to pull it off all by yourself.
