I have a question.... if I want to target Google Australia for my website shop.eaglearchery.com... what would be the best way to do that? au.eaglearchery.com? Looking for help from someone that does this. Thanks
So no way to do this with the existing site? Just to start with a new site after this one has age and is ranking well seems like a ton work.
If Australia is the target market I'd get a .com.au and 301 redirect the domain to keep the link juice.
Have you installed Google Analytics? If so, have you gone to Geographic target and selected a country? Have you written engaging content in good grammatical English?
Georg5030 Nope ... we want to target both US & AU... don't want to lose all of our US traffic... can you target more then 1 country? Also where do you do this in Google analytics? Dcristo... does that mean I should buy a whole new domain and 301 direct to that domain?
The best way is for you to get a lot of backlinks from websites that originate from Australia. This is what I see happen to my sites. If your site has backlinks from a certain country targeted site then you should rank better for that country's SE or in question here Google Australia.
Add your business to some Australia local business directories. Place your address on every page. Post the ads of your products to Australia Classified sites.
Try putting your site in Australia sites as much as possible, forum in Australia, and advertise a lot on social media based on Australia traffics.
work on Australia directory, classifieds, forum and blog comment. It's help you to visible your website in AU.
You can get good rankings with your existing website also. - submit your website to local search engines - Submit your website to local directories - Get backlinks from target countries - Get active on social networking websites which are popular in target country - Set your preferred geo-target location in Google webmaster tools
