If I switch to wordpress...

Hey all. So, I have been running my blog for almost a month now using blogger, but I have been thinking about it and I kind of want to switch to using wordpress.
I have both a domain name and hosting for my blog, so there is no problem with that.

I have a few questions so if you could please help me out I would appreciate it.

    1) Would I have to repost my blog posts on wordpress?
I am guessing this is a yes, and if so than would my blog seem younger? Like, would I have to transfer all my blog posts and then their entry date would be, for example, May 8th, etc. Or is it possible to change each date to correspond with the old dates.

    2) How easy is it to use wordpress?
Is it easy to install and set up?
    Is it easy to manage?
I have seen a lot of threads in this section with people needing help with things on wordpress. Is wordpress confusing to work with? Or would I be able to learn and adjust to it?

And any other suggestions and advice would be appreciated!
    Thank you!

    1) You can repost your articles on wordpress if you'd like. Use the Post date function to backdate your old posts.
    2) Wordpress is a cinch to use. Setup and installation are a breeze. Don't stress about that. Management is as easy as clicking on a link called Write to write a post. It is extremly self-explanatory. Don't worry about people being confused. I think most people who are confused are working with sites hosted by wordpress. Once you set it up on your own domain it really is quite easy.

In addition, there is a TON of information available from other blogs (like mine) on how to get yourself up and running, how to add different plugins, bulding traffic, etc.

Stop worrying and get yourself going! Good luck!

    Thanks both of you.
Yes, I am using the new blogger but if importing my posts from it is a pain in the butt, I will take the time and copy & paste. :p I will try to import it first, after I install everything first.

Actually if you have a wordpress.com account you could use that to import from the new blogger. Then do an export from wordpress.com and import into your own hosted wordpress!

I've done it a couple of times, works pretty good.

Okay well I had it installed and a nice theme working yesterday fine, until I tried to fix something and now it's not working at all.

If anyone is really good with wordpress installations and can help me out by talking me through fixing my problem, PM me and I will tell you the details of my problem.

    Thanks!

EDIT: I have found my solution on my own, and fixed. ;)

    Hi all,

I'm trying to switch from blogger to wordpress as well and then I bumped into this thread. I have something close to 250 articles in blogger and I don't think I want to copy and paste everything one by one.

    I have a wordpress.com account now... how do I export the 250 posts from blogger.com to wordpress.com?

    1. You dont need to report, you can simply import blogger posts into wordpress blog with ease.
    2. Wordpress is much better, interface a bit similar to blogger, lot of options to explore ;)
