If I submit a site to Lycos will this sand box me for other Search engines?

I have a fairly new site 1 month old, it only gets visited by Yahoo Slurp bot.
I was thinking of submiting my site to Lycos and maybe altavista...Now will doing this Sand box my site to other search listings such as Google?

Submitting your site to lycos will not cause you any punishment from other search engines.

Don't be ridiculous- you can submit to as many as you want without 'punishment'

The sandbox is for new sites. Submitting to another SE isn't going to make your site any newer or older.

Plus no one has mentioned there is no need to submit to Lycos. If you are building your links they will visit on their own.

Indeed. Submission is old school. It's no longer necessary and in many cases, won't make any difference anyway. If there is not an external link to your site, many (read most) SE's won't even add your site to the index.

Just used backlink finder on my website url and it reports :-

    Google 899, Yahoo 52,615, AllTheWeb 43,400, AltaVista 46,400
But rather confusing MSN/HotBot/Inktomi Zero and Lycos Zero
    Total links 143,314

Some posters suggest that the little bots will eventually find your site and it is not worth submitting?

Is it worth submirring to MSN and Lycos and if yes does anyone have the link for direct submission to Lycos? I found the MSN one ok. :)

Lycos just uses Ask results. Get your site in Ask.

Lycos used to be one of the most popular search engines at one time, believe it or not. They still have some traffic because they are the main hub of acommunity (Tripod free hosting, etc)
