If I register a domain for a friend then who is liable for it's contents?

    Hi,


    If I register a domain name and/or web hosting for a friend then who is liable for it's contents? Let's say he violates some copyrights and the copyright holder sues him... So any issues for me since I paid the bill though his address will be used...

    What if I register the domain (on godaddy) and ask him to register an account on GoDaddy and then transfer to his godaddy account...

    If you put your friends information in the WHOIS, then it would go to him. However, if you think this is going to be a problem why get involved in the first place?
