If I place an ALEXA widget in my pages, does it help increase my Alexa ranking?

    does puting an alexa widget "at least" help my ranking go better?
    if we think rationally, each load of page with alexa widget, will leave a ping over alexa servers.

    yes! I have ever tried it. By putting alexa widget (also alexa toolbar) will increase our alexa rank.

    r u guys nutts? adding alexa toolbar on your site will NOT increase your alexa ranking. alexa ranking is based on how many people visit your site using alexa toolbar. putting alexa widget on your own site will not make any difference

    if you want to manipulate alexa recommend your users to install alexa toolbar. The more of your users use alexa the more you deviate from the standard distribution and manipulate the ranks.

    Alexa widget doesn't help with Alexa rank, rather is to show you and your visitors how popular is your website.
    I have widgets on 2 sites and I am going to remove it.

    I've always been under the impression that the alexa widget does help increase your ranking, in that it ensures that every visit to the page it's on is counted, in the absence of the visitor using the alexa toolbar.
