if I listed in DMOZ, how long does it google to update it?

    Probably never. DMOZ is just one link, so any effect will be small. You probably need a few more to affect ranking.

    What were you expecting?

    It will have an effect as soon as google see it. Don't expect it to make any difference though, DMOZ isn't a magic potion, It's just a link in a directory, Much like any other link.

    Google will update it as soon as possible but is not just one link , dmoz has clones and that'll bring you different ip backlinks too this will take time.But if you are in low competition terms you'll see the difference in 2-3 months.
    For the google directory last update was 529 days before , I don't expect it to be updated anymore.

    A link from a DMOZ clone isn't going to be worth squat. They are garbage links.
