Check the ads on your site. If they are not related to sites topic filter them out. If your site has ads about dogs and site is about boats you will not get many clicks.
That is not true, I don't know the niche where the maximum you can get is $1, I made $3 with my blog in under 500 impressions, it's just he positioning of ads, theyr relativenes, look, background color and fonts, which can help you maximize the income.
adsense didnt work well in less traffic sites, make all possible afforts your traffic first! make the unique contents at your website & stay cool. you will improve your earning.

are we talking about your super mario bros site in your sig? if so, try to reduce the number of navigations you have, it really confuses, if you reduce them about 50 % and put in a couple of more big ads, that might help. also make more spacing between elements, its quite tight.
