Hey, I have 4000+ pages indexed in one of my sites, if I add a link from this to another site of mine, would this be counted as 4000+ backlinks or will each page have to get crawled first? Thanks
When each page that contains the link gets crawled yes, however the 4,000 backlinks will be "recognized"... They wont be valued like 4,000 backlinks from unique domains however.
It will be counted as 4,000 but won't be valued as 4,000. Probably just several (2 or 3 maybe) of them as it comes from one website. If you use link: operator the most you will only have 2 of them. Backlinks from many websites will be valued, not many pages from one website.
Its better you give link only 3-4 times, max.5 (I am sure for 5 even) others are useless as they are linking from same domain name ...
If you linking to your own site and the linking site is hosted on same sever ( ie both sites are on same server with same ip ) then you should not link such sites.
